My role: Lead Product Designer
Timeline: Aug 24 – Present
The scope: Two cross-functional squads covering purchase, fulfilment and portal products. Multiple portals used by installers, customers, dealers and internal teams.
Detailed project work is under NDA. The following describes the shape and scope of my role without revealing confidential product detail.
DESIGN SYSTEMS
I’m building Ohme’s multi-product, multi-mode design system — designed for flexibility and consistency across an interconnected portal ecosystem. I own the governance approach, documentation standards and cross-team adoption, working closely with engineering to ensure the system is practical and actively used.
RESEARCH & DISCOVERY
I conduct observational field research with installation partners, synthesising findings into presentations and reports that shape product decisions. I lead discovery work including workflow mapping, structured discussion guides and survey-based research to validate assumptions and inform design direction. I also designed a competitor analysis covering multiple charger manufacturers, examining screen UX, feedback mechanisms, app integration and user sentiment.
PRODUCT DIRECTION
I present design concepts and product direction to senior stakeholders and leadership, including C-suite, when work affects strategic or cross-team areas. I created a research and design roadmap aligned to the development roadmap, and took the initiative to create onboarding materials for new team members covering the product landscape, research approach and current work in progress.
AI-ENHANCED WORKFLOWS
I’m exploring how AI-enhanced workflows can improve the speed and quality of design system documentation and adoption across the team.
WHAT THIS ROLE DEMONSTRATES
Leading design across multiple products and squads simultaneously. Building and governing a design system as operational infrastructure, not just a UI library. Conducting field research that directly shapes product decisions. Presenting to C-suite on strategic and cross-team work. Working at the intersection of design systems and AI.
I’m happy to discuss this work in more detail during a conversation — please get in touch.
